 A salmon-pink main panel embroidered in gold and beaded in delicate pink iridescent beads sets off the top and bottom green panels that are embroidered in a rolling wave pattern. This bag shows off the centuries old Mithila designs of the Terai area of Southern Nepal. Originally these designs were painted on the exterior of a house to freshen up the painting that was done the year before. All this was in preparation for the New Year, and is still traditionally done by the women of Nepal. This 12”x12” messenger-style bag has 3 zippered compartments, and adjustable shoulder strap and a Velcro closure for the front panel.
